Furniture delays have frustrated many during the pandemic, but a furniture warehouse in Shelbyville is using that problem to their advantage.Sterling Crate Home is a monthly furniture and home goods sale where thousands of items are available for purchase and customers can take them home the same day.The 6,000 square foot warehouse is filled with sectionals, couches, chairs, dining sets, rugs, art and accessories.Brandei Seller started the business in March of 2020 with her mom, Naomi Stevens. Seller said the pandemic has caused an increase in their business.”To be honest, it worked in our favor,” said Seller. “Because of this furniture backorder situation, people can’t get it. So with us having it on the floor ready to go home on the same day, it’s actually brought more people to us.”Seller said they constantly place furniture orders so they can keep the warehouse stocked for monthly sales.The sale is happening Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.Customers who make purchases can take them home that day or schedule pick up the following week.The warehouse will be restocked before opening on Sunday.Sterling Crate Home also works with interior designers ahead of the monthly sales by appointment only.You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram to get a peek at some of the items featured in the sale.
